About KOBO Pickleball
Born from a small town. Built for the court. Engineered to perform.
"It's not the paddle. It's the surface."
The Name
What Does KOBO Mean?
KOBO comes from "Coboconk," the founder's hometown — a small town known as a gathering place. In Ojibwe, it means "meeting place of the gulls." That idea became the foundation of the KOBO brand: creating products that bring players together through authentic performance, competition, and community connection.
Today, KOBO represents a growing pickleball community connected through performance, feel, innovation, and engineering-first paddle design.
Our Philosophy
Engineering-First. Always.
KOBO was built with an engineering-first mindset. Every paddle is designed around performance, feel, balance, aerodynamics, stability, and surface interaction — not marketing hype or trend-driven design.
While other racket sports have embraced aerodynamic design, pickleball paddles have largely stayed stuck in the same square-shaped formula. We asked why. Then we brought in aerospace engineers to test that question, challenge the assumptions, and build something radically different — a paddle designed to move faster, feel better, and perform beyond today's standard technology.

Surface Technology
Why Surface Technology Matters
At KOBO, surface technology plays a major role in paddle performance. Spin generation, touch, feel, ball control, and feedback all begin at the paddle surface. This belief drives every material choice, every engineering decision, and every product we bring to market.
KOBO paddles are built for players who demand more — more feel, more control, more performance on every shot.
Community
More Than a Paddle Brand
KOBO believes pickleball is more than competition. It is a growing global community built around connection, improvement, passion, and shared experiences on the court.
KOBO is more than a paddle brand. It is a philosophy built around authentic performance and the connection between player and product.
